Pellet prices at OBI: 15 kg bags from 37.98 to 40.79 zł, i.e. 2,532–2,719 zł per tonne (September 2026; live prices in our table). Which of the six bags declares class A1, what each product page states, and when a store bag beats a pallet.

OBI sells wood pellets in 15 kg bags and — unlike most DIY chains — publishes the price and basic parameters of every bag online, even in the page's structured data. That lets us track them automatically. Below are all six pellets OBI has on offer online in September 2026, their prices converted to a tonne, what each product page declares (and what it doesn't), and when a bag from the store makes sense against a pallet from a distributor.
Six pellets at OBI — prices per bag and per tonne
As of 12 September 2026 (gross prices from obi.pl product pages; "online" = orderable with delivery, "in store only" = the page shows a price but sales are in person):
| Product | Bag price | zł/t | Availability | Class on the page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pellet drzewny A1 ENPLUS 15 kg | 40.79 zł | 2,719 | online | A1 |
| Pellet En-plus/DIN 16.50 MJ 15 kg | 39.98 zł | 2,665 | online | not stated |
| Pellet drzewny Beskid A1 15 kg | 37.99 zł | 2,533 | unavailable online | A1 |
| Pellet drzewny A1 En-plus 15 kg | 37.99 zł | 2,533 | unavailable online | A1 |
| Pellet drzewny Volcanica 15 kg | 37.99 zł | 2,533 | in store only | not stated |
| Pellet drzewny BIO DP-14 15 kg | 37.98 zł | 2,532 | in store only | not stated |
The maths for every row: price ÷ 15 × 1000 — how we convert everything. A seventh product, "Etna Pellet drzewny 17,6 MJ", has disappeared from the range (the page returns 404). All six are in the pellet price per tonne table from today with the current price — this page shows the state on the day of writing.
What each page declares — and what it doesn't
OBI uses the same spec table for all six: calorific value, moisture, ash, wood type. None of the six pages names the producer, and none gives a certificate number.
| Product | MJ/kg | Moisture | Ash | Wood |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A1 ENPLUS | 16.56 | 10% | 0.7% | mixed |
| En-plus/DIN 16.50 MJ | 16.50 | 10% | 0.6% | hardwood and softwood |
| Beskid A1 | 17.8 | 10% | 0.70% | mixed |
| A1 En-plus | 17 | 10% | 0.7% | softwood |
| Volcanica | 17 | 7% | 0.8% | mixed |
| BIO DP-14 | 16.50 | 10% | 0.7% (sulphur 0.04%) | softwood |
A few things that follow from this table:
- Three products carry "A1" in the name (A1 ENPLUS, Beskid A1, A1 En-plus) — and only those three get class A1 in our table, because we take the class solely from the product page's declaration. The other three may be excellent pellets, but if the page doesn't say what class they are, we don't guess. It also means a price alert can only cover those three.
- "En-plus/DIN" in a name is not a class. ENplus has classes A1, A2 and B; DINplus is a separate scheme — the differences. A name without a class letter says less than it seems.
- Volcanica declares 0.8% ash — above the class A1 limit (≤ 0.7%) and within A2 (≤ 1.2%). The page does not claim A1, so there is no contradiction — but if you are looking for A1, this bag is not one by its own spec sheet. Its 7% moisture, on the other hand, is the best figure of the six.
- 16.50 MJ/kg (En-plus/DIN, BIO DP-14) is exactly the standard's floor for every ENplus class (≥ 16.5 MJ/kg, i.e. 4.6 kWh/kg). The "10% / 0.7%" values on most products are also the standard's limits, not test results — the shop copied the thresholds, which is legal and common, but says nothing about a specific batch.
- The dearest bag has the lowest calorific value of the three A1s (16.56 MJ/kg at 2,719 zł/t versus Beskid's 17.8 MJ/kg at 2,533). If both declarations are true, you are buying 7% less energy for 7% more money. Online availability, on the other hand, is only there.
A bag from OBI or a pallet from a distributor
On the day of writing the cheapest available A1 bag at OBI is 2,719 zł/t. On the same day a 975 kg pallet with a Polish ENplus number, delivered, cost 2,308 zł/t in the producer's shop. The difference: 411 zł per tonne, over 1,600 zł on a typical 4 t season. That is the rule, not the exception: bags from the store come out dearer.
When a bag from the store still makes sense:
- you are topping up 5–10 bags at the end of the season and don't want to be left with half a pallet until summer;
- you have nowhere to store a tonne;
- you want to test a pellet in a new boiler before ordering a pallet;
- a delivered pallet can't reach you (access road, no forklift to unload) — a real problem in the countryside.
Mind the conversion: the price per tonne in the OBI table is arithmetic, not an offer. OBI does not sell tonnes — it sells bags. 65 bags of "A1 ENPLUS" collected in store really are 2,651 zł for 975 kg, only nobody will deliver them to you.
Availability at your store
Three of the six products are not sold online at all — and the "unavailable online" status on Beskid does not mean it isn't on the shelf at your OBI. OBI's site shows per-store stock only after you pick a store. For pass holders we offer a back-in-stock alert for a chosen OBI store: we check the stock in that specific store and write when the pellets are back on the shelf. We only count a real "gone → back" transition, and we give the unit count as a snapshot, not a reservation.
