Gold pellets — there are two. Pellet Energy (PL 014) and Bio Energy Group (PL 048)

Two different producers sell pellets under the name Gold in Poland: Pellet Energy of Błaszki and Bio Energy Group of Nowa Sarzyna. How to tell them apart by certificate number, both sets of parameters, and what the available sources say.

Updated 4 September 2026

If you're looking for "Gold pellets", first establish which — because two independent producers 300 km apart sell pellets under that name in Poland. Both hold ENplus A1, both pack 15 kg bags on 975 kg pallets, and both are simply called Gold. One glance at the certificate number on the bag tells them apart.

Gold no. 1: Pellet Energy of Błaszki — ENplus PL 014

This is the Gold usually meant when someone writes "Pellet Energy Gold". The producer, Pellet Energy Sp. z o.o., told its story in an ENplus interview in May 2026:

  • founded in 2011 in Błaszki (Łódź province), from the start as a pellet producer;
  • ENplus-certified since July 2015 — originally in order to export to Italy;
  • today employs around 50 people and produces "primarily for the Polish market, for individual customers";
  • tests the pellets (moisture, mechanical durability) "systematically, several times a day".

The certificate number — PL 014 — is quoted by sellers (e.g. Ogrzewanie Akapit), and the certifying body, according to the WoleBio shop's description, is PCU Deutschland GmbH of Berlin, which issued both ENplus A1 and DINplus.

Parameters declared by WoleBio (a shop whose prices we monitor — noted for transparency):

ParameterGold (Pellet Energy)A1 threshold
Calorific value18.16 MJ/kg = 5.05 kWh/kg≥ 4.6 kWh/kg
Ash0.45%≤ 0.70%
Moisture4.7%≤ 10%
Mechanical durability98.7%≥ 98%
Bulk density633 kg/m³600–750 kg/m³
Diameter6 mm6 or 8 mm

Raw material: "softwood sawdust, mainly pine, without bark, glue or any chemicals". Packaging: 15 kg bags, pallet of 65 bags = 975 kg.

WoleBio also states that Pellet Energy won the Konsumencki Lider Jakości (Consumer Quality Leader) title four years running (2022–2025). That is a consumer-survey award — it speaks to recognition and satisfaction, not to parameters; parameters are guaranteed by the certificate.

Gold no. 2: Bio Energy Group of Nowa Sarzyna — ENplus PL 048

The second Gold is made by Bio Energy Group Sp. z o.o., a plant at ul. Chemików 1 in Nowa Sarzyna (Subcarpathia), with an office in Rzeszów. According to its own website:

  • in the renewable-fuels market since 2013;
  • the production plant holds ENplus A1 certificate no. PL 048; the producer also states it meets DINplus requirements;
  • pellet samples are taken daily, kept and spot-tested;
  • exports to Italy, France, Germany and other EU countries;
  • also makes briquettes.

Since December 2024 Bio Energy Group has been a member of the Polish Pellet Council.

The producer's site gives no numerical parameters. Marketplace sellers declare values similar to the competitor's (ash ~0.4%, ≥ 5.1 kWh/kg) for this Gold, but we did not find them in the producer's own material, so we don't quote them. The A1 thresholds from the certificate apply.

The number on the bag is the only sure distinguishing mark. If a shop writes "Gold pellets ENplus A1" without a number — ask before you compare the price with a review that may have been about the other Gold.

Price, and what we see at PelletRadar

Neither Gold is in our price table today: Pellet Energy Gold is sold by WoleBio, but we track a different offer there (Task); the Nowa Sarzyna Gold we tracked via the pellet4future marketplace, which we switched off for postcode-dependent prices. At the time of writing WoleBio priced a Gold pallet at 2,499 zł, i.e. 2,499 ÷ 975 × 1000 = 2,563 zł/t — compare with the live A1 median in the table, since that figure will age faster than this article.

Before you buy

  1. Number on the bag: PL 014 or PL 048 — and check it in the ENplus register (how).
  2. Convert to a tonne: pallet price ÷ 975 × 1000, since both companies pack 975 kg, but a distributor may pack differently (pallet weight).
  3. Read reviews "of Gold" with the number in hand — without it you don't know which one is meant.
